Drive Smart Weld County

This car was involved in a fatal rollover crash on September 20 at 10:15 p.m. The 2004 red Dodge Neon SRT4 was going eastbound on Weld County Road (WCR) 64 ½ , at an estimated speed of 80 mph, when it lost control in the right hand curve to southbound WCR 27.  The Neon ran off the left side of the road, went through a very deep drainage ditch, collided with a concrete irrigation ditch and rolled 3 ½ times.  The Neon stopped on its top facing west.  Both airbags deployed, but the driver was not wearing his seat belt and was ejected out the sunroof of the Neon.  The driver’s blood/alcohol level was .165, over 2 times the legal limit to drive in the State of Colorado.
